How to Properly Select Automatic Screw Tightening Machines

Time:2026-07-27

With the rapid development of science and technology, a growing variety of automated equipment is available on the market. Taking automatic screw tightening machines as an example, there are numerous models with varied configurations. However, many of them fail to meet reliable quality standards. Most users lack the knowledge to distinguish high-quality screw machines from inferior ones, which results in unnecessary cost losses. Today we will share guidance on how to select a suitable screw tightening machine.
  1. Check automatic sorting performance: In actual production, irregular screws with burrs, flattened heads, oversized heads and other defects may appear. Place a batch of such non-standard irregular screws into the hopper. If the machine can automatically sort out defective screws without jamming during operation, it meets one of the criteria for a quality screw machine.
  2. Check automatic feeding replenishment: After the machine sorts out an irregular screw in the first test, a vacant position will be left. If the system can supply the next screw promptly to fill the gap, this constitutes the second standard for a reliable screw machine.
  3. Check for floating screw phenomenon: Some manufacturers widen all material channels to let irregular screws pass through easily. This makes it difficult for the screwdriver bit to align with the cross recess of screws, leading to floating locking and increased defective products.
  4. Check for double feeding faults: Occasionally, if the previous screw has not been fully tightened, triggering the sensor lightly may cause a second screw to be delivered, resulting in two screws arriving at the working position simultaneously.
